Doug Osborne sends along an update on the project in Sheridan…
The Green House Living for Sheridan project is in construction as of April 1st with a contract completion date of 10/25/2011. We hope to be serving elders before Christmas this year.
We believe this will be the first grassroots/volunteer, no mother ship Green House project in the country. It will serve as a pilot and model for the state of Wyoming and we hope will convince other communities around the state that this is the model they should adopt.
We have had wonderful support from our state’s Congressional delegation, our previous governor, our current governor, the legislature, the Wyoming department of health, the county commissioners, the city council and mayor. We have had tremendous financial and moral support from local foundations, businesses and citizens. We have partnerships with the Sheridan community college and the local school district. We are tightly connected with the Sheridan senior center.
We are doing all we can to meet your guidelines in every respect. As a result of your conversation with me when you were here last, our design now has windows on two walls of every bedroom. . .
These folks aren’t following, they are leading and I love it. For more information visit Green House LIving for Sheridan here.
