Sunrise’s Perrine ADT (Adult Day Training Center) got a “jump start” on summer by visiting Jungle Island on May 18, 2012. The adventure was courtesy of Miami-Dade County Parks via a grant for People with Disabilities.
Making diversity and inclusion a priority in the daily lives of people with intellectual disabilities is an imperative part of Sunrise’s mission. We greatly appreciate the financial support awarded to make this opportunity a reality in the lives of more than 65 people who are working to enhance their pre-vocational and social skills in Perrine, Florida. It was an amazing day of engaged, hands-on learning which exposed many to the wonders of nature in the heart of Miami. All of our tour participants are excited about going back!!
Our most sincere thanks and gratitude to Miami-Dade Parks & Recreation for making this possible and for your continued support of people living with mental and physical challenges.
