Well, day two of my very first ever blog and I don’t want to screw it up, so I’m posting again. That is what I read I was supposed to do, post regularly so people keep coming back. So, here goes! I thought everyone might like to see some of our Siberian kittens. They truly are adorable!! I hope you enjoy viewing them. Siberians come in “any color under the rainbow”, which basically means any color and any pattern. It is fun breeding them because you don’t have to worry about sticking to a strict color class, you get to be more creative in creating beautiful purebred kittens. I’ll share a few kitten photos today, then share some more tomorrow. Then, I’ll be going on a kayaking trip down the Owyhee River for a week so I won’t be able to post for a bit. Enjoy!
Leo and Dimitri are brothers from our very first Siberian litter of kittens. They are a good example of the difference between a silver tabby and a brown tabby. For you former or current geneticists out there- the silver tabby, Dimitri, is silver because of the “inhibitor” gene he inhereted from his father. The inhibitor gene inhibits the yellow pigmentation and turns it white and you get “silver”. Silver tabbies are stunning as they age. Ledenets, his papa featured on our blog at the top banner, is one such example. Both of these boys will also have green eyes like thier dad at about 5 months of age. Who’s your favorite?
