AARP New Hampshire is hosting a free workshop Nov. 11 featuring Dr. Bill Thomas to help older adults better manage prescription drugs. An expert on geriatric medicine and eldercare, Dr. Bill Thomas will share his wisdom on using medications safely and reducing medication-related problems. AARP New Hampshire reports:
Did you know 75% of people 45 and older take an average of 4 prescription drugs per day? And medication-related problems cost $200 billion per year, the same amount we spend on the drugs themselves?
That is why it’s important to know the steps to better medication management and why AARP New Hampshire is hosting a free workshop titled “Medicines and You: You Have The Power!”
Register for Medicines and You: You Have The Power! to learn why more medicine is not always the answer, brand-name drugs aren’t always preferable, new drugs aren’t always better, and sometimes pills aren’t the answer at all.
Reservations are required by calling 1-877-926-8300. You do not need to be an AARP member to attend. Sign up today and get AARP’s toolkit that will help you track your medications, ask questions of your health care team and make wise choices.
The workshop will be held in Manchester, NH, Nov. 11 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Click here to RSVP and to access AARP’s Medication Tool Kit.
