Get your hipster reading glasses on because it’s the end of September and time for the 17th Annual Baltimore Book Festival, the one weekend out of the year when we can call Baltimore the “City that Reads” with a straight face.
The Baltimore Book Festival features hundreds of local, celebrity and nationally known authors, speaking and signing books, and more than 100 exhibitors and booksellers, including — drumroll please — us!
That’s right, ChangingMedia is proud to partner with the Baltimore Office of Promotion of the Arts and we’d like to invite you to check out our exhibit right on Mt. Vernon Square under the monument where we will be showcasing our debut indie publication, the novel Tribes of Eden by William H. Thomas.
ChangingMedia will also be providing video coverage of the main author’s stage, including Teresa Giudice, Emily Giffin, Rachel Swarns, Amy Goodman and Denis Moynihan and Michael Tucker. Other celebrity writers appearing at the festival include mystery writer Laura Lippman and Newbery Award-winning children’s author Laura Amy Schlitz.
Lots of cool features this year, including a new partnership with Center Stage that will extend the festival an extra block. You can bring your own books to swap at the City Paper bookswap, and enjoy nonstop readings on multiple stages, cooking demos by top chefs, poetry readings, workshops, panel discussions, walking tours, storytellers and hands-on projects for kids, live music, and a delicious variety of food, beer and wine.
