A few posts ago I wrote about the “meaningful use” provision of the health care act that requires hospitals and other health care systems to make a patient’s record available in a short “meaningful” period of time, which in this case is 4 days. The American Hosptial Association has fought back hard on this provision saying that they need 30 days to provide that information. To get a practical idea of what this difference might make in a patient’s life, watch this animated slide show.
