From the comments, Tropigal notes…
I want skin that is supple and relatively free of age spots, without being obsessive about it.
I interviewed a topnotch dermatologist in my 20s, when I was reporter and seeking a fountain of youth for my skin. He was an older man with a beautiful complexion.
He said he used nothing but soap and water. The one secret to good skin, he said. was to be sure to rinse off all the soap. I rinse my skin directly with water splashed on, not a microbe-laden washcloth.
I am pleased with my skin, though not necessarily with the little jowely things or my necklines.
I use an inexpensive moisturizer. Once in a while a spring for a more expensive product — nothing more expensive than the high 20s — in the fantasy belief it will do something wonderful.
Simple is best.
