It is far too easy for those who are safe and warm in their own homes to forget about the suffering of others, especially when the people concerned live very far away.
Australia is just now beginning to recover from epic — millennial— flooding that has devastated significant portions of the eastern part of the country.
This is a disaster on a scale that is unimaginable in the USA and Europe.
I have always believed that human elders are especially important in times such as these and I would like to, respectfully, request that the elders who read this blog consider reaching out to offer solace, comfort and whatever support is possible to the people of Australia.
Australian’s are good people, they are a hardy people, and they will prevail in their efforts to recover from this disaster. They can also benefit from our support— even when all we can offer are words of fellowship and encouragement.
