We recently trumpeted the news that Rick Gamache won a big award. He reads the blog daily and sent me the following note…
Thank you for posting the Providence Business News interview on your blog. I have read changingaging.org almost everyday since you first started, and it caught me completely off guard to see my picture and the article posted there.
I hope you and your family are well, and I look forward, as always, to crossing paths with you again in the near future.
BTW: I added “Man’s World” by Natacha Atlas to my ipod. Good tune. I put the original James Brown version on as well.
Here are a couple of recommendations for you: Do you know The Duhks? They are a Canadian group that plays a mixture of bluegrass and Celtic, sort of that Acadian sound. You might want to listen to “Love is the Seventh Wave” (an old Sting tune), or “Dance Hall Girls” about Baltimore!
Also, Ali Farka Toure and Ry Cooder recorded an album (can I still call them albums?) together a few years ago called Talking Timbuktu. “Ai Du” is a great cut -kind of bluesy/African number.
Take care, R.
Here is “Ai Du” and I have to say WOW!
Love the rhythm of this…
