Last week Bill Thomas’ new novel Tribes of Eden was officially launched after literally years of work. It was a huge challenge creating a high quality publication and I’m very proud of the team here at ChangingAging that helped put it together. Of course, our work promoting Tribes has just begun, but getting the book launch behind me means I get to turn my attention to some exciting new projects on the horizon — namely, what’s next for ChangingAging.
When I setup the blog ChangingAging with Dr. Bill Thomas almost five years ago we had no idea where it would take us. It started out and has remained a powerful platform for social commentary. It has grown into a vehicle for supporting and promoting the culture change movement. It has been a useful megaphone for promoting Dr. Bill’s never-ending stream of innovations and thought leadership, including the latest developments at The Eden Alternative and Green House Project, his work piloting the first senior-specific emergency department and as a founding faculty member at UMBC’s one-of-a-kind Erickson School of Aging Services, speaking at TEDx and many other projects. And for the past year, ChangingAging has been home to the Blogstream multi-blog network, empowering organizations with the latest social media and Web 2.0 skills and promoting pro-aging voices and blogs from around the world.
When I consider the full range of talent we’ve attracted and the projects we’ve tackled, I see ChangingAging has grown into more than a blog; I see a mission-driven social network; a full-fledged publishing house; a video production studio; a web design firm; and a social media consulting agency.
In an exclusive announcement just for ChangingAging readers, I’m pleased to announce that the team behind the ChangingAging Blogstream, Sana Publications, Tribes of Eden, KPG Video Productions and numerous websites and blogs is formally coming together to launch an independent, full-services creative consulting company. It is called ChangingMedia.
You will be learning a lot more about the people and vision behind this project soon. Right now we are assembling our website and building our team. We envision a cloud-based consulting agency bringing together independent creative consultants to meet the needs of any job. Here is a preview of What We Do at ChangingMedia:
