In social media circles Friday is often the day to give shoot-outs to your favorite followers on Twitter (hashtag #FF for Favorite Friday), organize live-chat events on Facebook and roundup up the week’s news on your blog.
ChangingAging has threads on multiple social networking sites so I’d like to begin featuring those conversations on the blog with a Friday Social Media Roundup.
Our group ChangingAging on LinkedIn (CALI) has recently eclipsed our Facebook Page by growing to over 1,000 members in just the past year. Managed by the irreplaceable Katherine Yanda, CALI is a hotbed of discussions on aging, culture change and aging services. Here’s a look at the most popular discussions this week:

ChangingAging on Facebook is a great place to keep up with our latest blog posts, but on the first Friday of the month the real action is at the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long Term Care’s Facebook Page, where Executive Director Sarah Wells leads a day-long live-chat focused on quality long term care:

Turnover rates are extremely high in the nursing home industry. Some nursing homes have much higher turnover rates than others, and they have a hard time retaining nurses, nurse aides and other staff. Why is turnover so high? Why is it harder for some facilities to hold onto staff than it is for others?
