For nearly two months we’ve been working behind the scenes at ChangingAging developing a complete rebuild and redesign of the website. We will soon be rolling out more visible changes so it’s now time to give you, our valued ChangingAging community, a heads up so we don’t freak you out and scare you away.
The goal of the redesign is to greatly expand the ChangingAging community and we have several exciting ideas in the works to support this.
We are testing ways to use the latest WordPress multi-blog features to allow our members to sign-up for their own blogs as part of the not-for-profit ChangingAging Blogstream. We plan to offer a basic free blog, customized blogs for organizations and an option to port existing blogs into the ChangingAging Blogstream. All options will be super-social-network and search engine optimized with all the latest bells and whistles.
The goal is simple — build the ChangingAging community by linking blogs who share our pro-aging vision and providing an easy way to get started for those who are new to blogging and social networking. We’ll blog more about the rationale and philosophy behind the changes soon. The features and advantages of joining the ChangingAging Blogstream are going to rock your social media world!
As anyone who has built a website or custom blog knows, the process is more difficult and time consuming than you imagine at the outset. Many of the organizations who follow us barely have the expertise and resources to update their core website, let alone to experiment with blogs. We hope that by testing this technology and working through all the bugs and pitfalls we can offer our community a super-easy and highly functional blogging platform they can easily afford.
None of the changes we’ve made are visible yet, but our developers have already migrated the site to a faster server and cleaned up the architecture. ChangingAging should be running faster and smoother than ever and we’d greatly appreciate hearing from our readers if they encounter any errors or problems.
We’ll have more updates soon. Take a look after the jump if you’d like to see some of the ChangingAging logo concepts we’ve been playing with. We’re also looking for partners interested in signing-up early for Beta testing of the ChangingAging Blogstream. Click on the “Contact Us” button below if you’re interested.
